Man taken to hospital after falling off roof in wild weather

A 41-year-old man went to hospital on Sunday night, after falling off a house roof as wild weather shook the region.

A spokeswoman for Queensland Ambulance Service said an ambulance was called to a home in Glen Eden around 8.30pm.

While a 000 caller had told QAS that the man had been struck by lightning, the spokeswoman said that was not the case, and his injuries came from his fall.

He was suffering from lower limb injuries, and was transported to Gladstone in stable condition.

The Bureau of Meteorology recorded 25.2mm of rain in Gladstone late Sunday and overnight, while wind gusts peaked at 35kph at 2.52am Monday morning.
