Man should have drunk his water rather than throwing it

A MAN sentenced in court on Tuesday have been better off drinking his water, rather than throwing it at hotel staff.

Shaun Raymond Minton was sentenced in Gladstone Magistrates Court after an alcohol-related incident.

He pleaded guilty in writing to two charges - one each of committing public nuisance and failing to leave licensed premises, after a night on the drink on March 29.

The court heard Minton had been asked to leave the Reef Hotel in Gladstone just before midnight when he began abusing staff outside the venue.

Minton then threw a bottle of water at hotel staff, before being arrested by police officers.

Magistrate Russell Warfield recorded a conviction against Minton before fining him $600.
