A MAN has been taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition after a house fell on him in Brisbane's south.

The man was helping to move the house that was on the back of a truck on Marchant Street in Tarragindi when he became stuck underneath it around 1:30pm.

"It appears he sustained serious pelvic injuries as a result of the pressure applied by the house coming down on him."

Queensland Fire and Rescue used hydraulic rams to move the house off the man.

It's understood the house collapsed on him.
