Man scares away three people trying to break through door

A SOUTH Mackay residents chased away three would-be burglars this morning after their attempts to force open a door woke him.

The resident was woken about 12.30am today by a noise outside of his unit.

He looked out the window and saw three 'crooks' near his building. All of them have quickly ran from the area when the resident shouted at them.

According to police,  a check by the resident of the locked door which the trio were near showed that they tried to break through the door.

The group is described as about seventeen years of age and of Caucasian appearance.
