Man allegedly punches, threatens to stab truck driver

A GOLD Coast man has punched and threatened to stab a truck driver on the Bruce Highway near Caloundra. 

Police have arrested a 23-year-old following an assault at Bells Creek on the Bruce Highway last night. 

A Paradise Point man has been charged with a number of offences, including; wounding, assault occasioning bodily harm, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle whilst adversely affected, wilful damage and wilful damage of police property.

Police w allege the man assaulted a truck driver, punching him in the head before dragging him from the cab of the truck and attempting to stab the truck driver with a knife.

The Paradise Point man then left the scene and was located by police a short time later.

He is due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates court on 19 December.
