Man one step from jail after kicking hole in hotel wall

IT'S THE final chance for a Gladstone man who kicked a hole in a wall of a local establishment.

On March 1 about 11.50pm, Ellijah Lloyd Charles was having a few drinks at the Central Lane Hotel.

But one too many led to Charles kicking a hole in the wall, causing $753 in damage.

The 23-year-old appeared in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Tuesday pleading guilty to one charge of wilful damage.

Charles was banned from all local establishments in the Gladstone CBD, put on probation for 12 months, ordered to pay restitution and had a conviction recorded.

Magistrate Damien Dwyer said it was his last chance.

"This time I'm taking you out of the pubs, next time it will be the community," he said.
