UPDATE 4PM: A 24-year-old bashing victim was in a stable condition in a Nambour hospital while his alleged attacker's violence charges were being mentioned in Maroochydore Magistrates Court.

The alleged attacker, 33-year-old Leslie John McRorie, was today remanded in custody after charges of grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning bodily harm were mentioned in Maroochydore Magistrates Court.

Police allege the victim was punched in the face and knocked unconscious as his head hit the ground on Parkyn Pde, not far from Hogs Breath restaurant at The Wharf.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 12.30am Sunday.

Officers said the man suffered injuries to his nose and eye when he fell to the ground.

He was taken to Nambour General Hospital for treatment.

A hospital spokeswoman said the man was this afternoon in a stable condition.

McRorie's matters are next due for mention in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on July 13.

UPDATE 7AM:

A 33-year-old man has been charged over the late night assault on another man at Mooloolaba. 

Police allege a 24-year-old man was punched in the face and knocked unconscious as his head hit the ground on Parkyn Parade, not far from Hogs Breath restaurant at the Wharf. 

He sustained injuries to his nose and eye as he has fallen to the ground.

He was transported to Nambour General Hospital for treatment. 

The alleged attacker has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and grievous bodily harm and is due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court Monday morning.

MOOLOOLABA has been marred by another assault, this time in the early hours of Sunday morning. 

Police say a 24-year-old man was punched in the face and knocked unconscious as his head hit the ground on Parkyn Parade, not far from Hogs Breath restaurant at the Wharf.

He was transported to Nambour General Hospital for treatment. 

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman described the man's injuries as serious, but did not elaborate as to the extent of the injuries.

Police were speaking with two men, aged 33 and 36 last night, but no charges have been made.

Investigations continue.
