Man charged over fuel thefts across region

THE mystery of missing diesel fuel and copper wire has allegedly been solved.

A man appeared in court this week on multiple charges of theft.

He was arrested by police in Biloela and charged with break and enters at Moura, where a large amount of tobacco was allegedly stolen, as well as charges of stealing diesel fuel and copper wire in Gladstone, Biloela, Mount Larcom and Benaraby.

Senior Sergeant Luke Peachey from Gladstone Police said officers had "worked overtime on the case and have achieved a good result".

He said the "clean-up" should have a significant impact.

The man was denied bail in the Gladstone Magistrate's Court and his case was adjourned.

He is due to reappear on November 14.
