The Caves man in intensive care after crash

UPDATE 3PM: A 21-year-old man from The Caves remains in a critical but stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit of Rockhampton Hospital following a single vehicle crash at Mt Etna this morning. 

UPDATE, 2pm: A badly injured 21-year-old man was trapped for three hours in a vehicle that had rolled near Mount Etna early Sunday morning.

The man sustained a serious head injury during the accident which happened about 12.20am.

A doctor and Intensive Care Paramedic on board the RACQ CAPRICORN RESCUE HELICOPTER attended the scene  and treated the patient.

The patient was flown to Rockhampton in a serious condition for further treatment.

 

EARLIER: POLICE are investigating a serious traffic crash that occurred early this morning near Rockhampton.

Initial investigations suggest that a single vehicle has rolled on Rossmoya Road and police were called to the incident around 12.20am.

On arrival, the single male occupant of the vehicle was suffering from serious head and arm injuries and a helicopter has transported the man to the Rockhampton Hospital.

The Forensic Crash unit continues to investigate.
