Nieces accuse uncle of sexual abuse involving family pet

A MAN is standing trial for performing sexual acts on his two young nieces.

The 46-year-old man, who can't be named so as to protect the identity of the girls, is standing trial in the Ipswich District Court for maintaining an unlawful relationship and three counts of indecent treatment of a child.

He has pleaded not guilty.

The court heard the man has been accused of sexually abusing the two sisters over a period of years, ranging from 2007 to 2011.

The court heard during the alleged offences the eldest girl was aged between five and nine years old, while the younger sister was aged between two and six years old.

The allegations came to light after the girls told their parents about the alleged offences and that led to the man being charged.

The prosecution has alleged the man would abuse the girls almost every night they stayed at his house.

Prosecutor Caroline Marco alleged the man performed a range of sexual acts on the girls from kissing them to rubbing himself against them.

The offences are alleged to have occurred at a range of houses the defendant moved between.

Ms Marco said the elder girl said she had told the man she didn't want him to touch her, however he allegedly continued to abuse her.

She said the elder of the girls said he would spray whipped cream on her and said he had got the family pet to perform sexual acts on her younger sister.

The court heard the younger girl made a series of similar allegations about her uncle's actions.

The trial will continue today.
