Man impaled on metal bracket at Turkey Beach

A 48-YEAR-OLD man fell from a veranda at Turkey Beach on Friday night, impaling himself on a metal bracket.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the man received a 15cm cut to his back and was airlifted to Rockhampton Hospital.

The incident happened about 12.30am with the Miriam Vale ambulance crew the first on the scene to offer medical assistance.
