Man given jail sentence after calling police names

COMPARING police to farmyard animals was a costly exercise for Dick Jeff Ludwig, who was sentenced to one month jail after pleading guilty to public nuisance.

The sentence, wholly suspended, was the result of foul-mouthed insults directed at police on December 19.

Police had arrived at a Toolooa address to investigate complaints of a disturbance.
