Man gets case adjourned again

A FRASER Coast man, with a history of sacking his lawyers to delay court proceedings, achieved another adjournment in a Brisbane court.

Zane Rene Cook, 34, was set down for sentence in the Brisbane District Court on Friday for knowingly selling a stolen boat on eBay for $27,000

He now has legal representation from Legal Aid but the lawyer told the court she wanted to see transcripts from Cook's trial in the Hervey Bay District Court in June.

The Toogoom resident, who has a five-week-old son, initially had pleaded guilty, then decided he wanted a trial and then cut his trial short by sacking his lawyers.

Judge Leanne Clare responded by revoking his bail, but on Friday in Brisbane she granted a further delay so his lawyers could give him informed legal advice.

Cook is now expected to plead guilty and be sentenced on Thursday.
