Man fined $750 for having cannabis plants and seeds

TWO cannabis plants, a tin of seeds and 13.1 grams of cannabis found in the search of a property where Donald Rere Hallin lived cost $750 when Hallin appeared in the Gladstone Magistrates Court this week.

A bong was also found during the search, which Hallin admitted to using when taking drugs.

Also in court this week, Ashley Meagan Ratana was fined $200 and lost her licence for a month because of unpaid fines.

And failure to turn up for a drug diversion course cost Jake Michael McGuire $200 when he appeared in Gladstone Magistrates Court.

McGuire told police he had forgotten to attend, which earned him rebuke from Magistrate Barbara Tynan.

However, she decided not to register a conviction, giving him another chance.
