Man fatally injured in motorcycle collision with horse

A MAN has died after his motorcycle struck a horse at Bluewater north of Townsville late last night.

Initial investigations indicate the crash occurred around 10.30pm on the Bruce Highway when a horse entered the roadway.

The male rider of the motorcycle died at the scene.

The horse also died.

The highway was closed in both directions before reopening at 3.10am.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
