Man exposes himself at Rockhampton PCYC carnival rides

STANDING between two carnival rides amongst a crowd of children and their families, Pieter John Minter dropped his pants and performed a sex act on himself.

Minter was at a children's carnival at Stapleton Park near the PCYC in Rockhampton when the offence occurred on April 8, in full view of the crowd of about 150 people.

Recently the 37-year-old's long criminal history of similar offences was read out to Rockhampton Magistrates Court.

Police were called about 7.30pm and reported Minter smelled strongly of alcohol.

The court heard Minter suffered anxiety, and had struggled with alcohol, speed and cannabis since he was a teenager.

Magistrate Michael O'Driscoll told Minter his conduct was clearly unacceptable.

Minter was sentenced to two years' probation, during which he will attend counselling and undergo therapy.
