Man's enthusiastic moves on dance floor turn violent

A MAN ejected for dancing up a storm opted for a flurry of violence as he made his exit, Gladstone Magistrates Court heard on Tuesday.

Toby Colin Smith pleaded guilty in writing to one count of public nuisance, after an incident about 1am on April 6.

Smith was asked to leave the dance floor at the Reef Hotel before being restrained by bouncers after he punched a guard several times as he was being escorted out.

Smith was convicted, fined $750 and banned from three CBD venues for six months.
