Man dies after boat capsizes of Cape Moreton this morning

POLICE will prepare a report for the Coroner following the death of a 57-year-old Beachmere man in waters off Cape Moreton this morning.

Initial investigations indicate the man, along with a 24-year-old Beachmere man and a 30-year-old Yarraman man, were on a vessel believed to have overturned about 7am this morning about 11 nautical miles north-northeast off Cape Moreton.

A rescue helicopter winched the men from the water for airlift to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

The two other men were treated for hypothermia and fatigue.
