Man critical after falling 30m from balcony

A 28-YEAR-OLD man remains in a critical condition after falling from a high rise balcony in Brisbane's CBD on Sunday morning.

Police and emergency services were called to an address on Upper Roma Street at around 10 with initial investigations suggesting the man had fallen about 30 metres.

The man suffered serious head injuries and has been taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital for treatment and remains in a critical condition.

Police have established a crime scene at a unit at the address, and forensic officers will continue processing and examining the scene for some time.

Detectives from the Brisbane City Criminal Investigation Branch are conducting investigations, and a number of people who were in the vicinity at the time of the incident are currently speaking with police and assisting with their enquires.
Investigations to determine the nature and cause of the incident are continuing.
