Man charged with drink driving after crashing into lights

A MAN has been charged with drink driving after his car crashed into traffic lights at the corner of Toolooa and Coon Sts, South Gladstone, on Friday morning.

The 42-year-old man, who allegedly recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.164, left the scene of the accident but was tracked down by Gladstone police.

The accident happened at 4.45am.

The man was charged with drink driving, driving without due care and attention, and failure to remain at the scene of an accident.

He will appear in court at a later date.
