Man charged after failing to leave CBD

A MAN has been charged after failing to leave the Gladstone CBD early on Saturday morning.

Police issued a move-on direction order to 24-year-old man at 1.55am, meaning he had to leave the area for six hours.

The man failed to immediately comply with the direction, and was arrested and charged.

Shortly afterwards, a 23-year-old man was arrested and charged with a public nuisance offence.

Police said they were dealing with another matter when the offender approached them at 2am.

The man was asked to stand aside by police. He then began swearing loudly and acting abusively.

Both men will appear in Gladstone Magistrate's Court at a later date.

In other police news, a Mitsubishi Magna was intercepted on Grevillea St, Biloela at 12.30am on Saturday.

Police breath tested the 33-year-old female driver, who allegedly returned a reading of 0.111.

She was arrested and charged with drink driving and will appear at Biloela Magistrate's Court at a later date.

And a house in Hamilton Drive, Clinton was broken into between 8pm and midnight on Sunday.

Property was stolen. Gladstone police are investigating.
