Man wielding a brick steals goods from adult store

UPDATE:

A BRAZEN, brick-wielding bandit threatened a staff member at the Love Heart Adult Shop on Mangrove Rd, before making off with store items.

The man re-entered the store with a brick at 12.27pm after earlier pleading with staff to give him aphrodisiac tea products, even attempting to exchange jewellery for the goods.

Store worker Aaron McGhee said the man was desperate, dishevelled and agitated, but not intimidating.

"He kept apologising as he was waving the brick," Mr McGhee said. "He was pleading for the tea. I honestly felt sorry for him."

The man, who did not demand cash, left the premises on a motorbike.

The stolen teas were an aphrodisiac and relaxant. The items were estimated to be worth $200.

Mr McGhee described the man as 175cm tall, with blonde hair and of a heavy build.

He was wearing a blue shirt and black pants.

The police arrived shortly afterwards and took evidence, including fingerprints and camera footage, from the scene.

Mr McGhee said he was initially shaken by the incident, but never felt he was in danger.

Any witnesses are asked to contact Mackay police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
