Man banned from hotel after attacking security guard

A SIMPLE case of mistaken identity has left a Gladstone man banned from Reef Hotel with a hefty fine to pay.

Christopher Glen Zuch mistook a security guard at the Reef for the man who broke up his relationship, around 2am on October 26.

In his drunken state, Zuch threw a punch at the security guard.

Zuch appeared in Gladstone Magistrate's Court on Tuesday and pleaded guilty to one count of drunk and disorderly conduct in premises to which a permit/licence relates.

He received a $500 fine with his conviction recorded.

Zuch was also banned from the Reef Hotel until May 20, 2013.
