Man airlifted to hospital with chest and spine injuries

RACQ CareFlight Rescue has airlifted a man who was injured after a front end loader rolled backwards down an embankment on a property in the Southern Downs region.

It is believed the loader rolled over when it turned sideways across a steeper section of the hill, coming to rest approximately 25 metres away.

The man in his 50s suffered suspected chest and spinal injuries.

The Gold Coast RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to the property, approximately 40 kilometres east of Texas, at 12.30pm.

The Flight Intensive Care Paramedic on board CareFlight's helicopter assessed and treated the patient's injuries.

He was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
