Man, 30, vanishes after jumping into Brisbane River

POLICE are continuing their search for a man who went missing in the Brisbane River overnight.

Police believe that around 10.30pm, a 30-year-old man jumped from the William Jolly Bridge into the river and surfaced, but then went under the water and hasn't been seen since.

Police are conducting extensive searches of the nearby area and Water Police have searched the river overnight but the man is still unaccounted for.

Water police will be searching both sides of the river, while officers on foot will conduct a land search.
