Male tourist stung by jellyfish

Paramedics were called to the coastal town of Seventeen Seventy on Monday morning after a male tourist suffered a marine sting.

Queensland Ambulance Service officers responded to Captain Cook Drive about 11.30am.

The man had welts on his body and responded well to treatment with vinegar.

A QAS spokeswoman said the wounds possibly came from a blue bottle jellyfish.

No transport to hospital was required.
