Major announcements at summit

THE population in the Gladstone region is expected to exceed 96,500 by 2026, with the region supporting a diverse spread of business and industry.

From tourism, agriculture, fishing, forestry and engineering, the Gladstone area boasts strong economic activity worth billions in the future.

The Gladstone Region of Choice Summit brings together key stakeholders in the Gladstone Region for positive announcements, discussions and opportunities. The theme for this year’s Region of Choice Summit is “Leading the Way” and it will be held at the Gladstone Entertainment Centre on March 18 and 19.

Gladstone Area Promotion Development Limited (GAPDL) CEO Glenn Churchill said there will be important major announcements of benefit to the future of the Gladstone Region and the hinterland.

“There is strong support for the initiative by business, industry, community and governments, which we believe will contribute to the current and future economic activity and the future development of the Gladstone Region,” Mr Churchill said.

Keynote speakers are Executive Vice-President of BG Group Australia, Catherine Tanna; Liam Tobin – QER Director of Sustainable Development, Mining and Environment; Leo Zussino, chairman, Gladstone Economic Industry Development Board and Everald Compton, chairman, Australian Transport and Energy Corridor.
