Magpies vote top players
NATHAN Muller has been named the Miriam Vale Magpies best player in their premiership year.
The club has held its presentation night to put icing on its 2010 cake.
The talented hooker had a stellar year, and was one of the driving forces behind the Magpies taking out the grand final on their home turf defeating Gin Gin 38-10.
Other presentations included Carl Griffiths for most consistent, and Jake Gower for the best back.
About 150 Magpies faithful attended the formalities, and enjoyed the evening and chance to rub shoulders and congratulate the premiership players.
Former NRL legend Gary Larson presented players with trophies and spoke highly of the current crop of Magpies, and his thoughts about playing for the club many years ago.
Former NRL player Shane Kenwood was also a speaker on the night.
Miriam Vale Magpies president Owen Harms paid tribute to the committee and all staff who worked tirelessly throughout the year for the success.
“I was extremely proud of the achievements of winning the minor premiership and the grand final,” Harms said.
Harms said the club would look to build on the nucleus of players, and youth would again be a key part of the Magpies' fortunes in 2011, as it was this year.
