Macaulay Culkin's dad hopes to reconnect after stroke

MACAULAY Culkin's dad Kit Culkin was hoping to reconnect with his famous son before he suffered a massive stroke in Oregon on Tuesday, where he is reportedly fighting for his life.

The 'Home Alone' star's family were summoned to a hospital in Oregon on Tuesday where Kit Culkin is allegedly fighting for his life, but the 33-year-old actor reportedly hasn't visited him yet.

Macaulay has a busy schedule until the end of March as he is set to kick off a US tour with his pizza-themed Velvet Underground cover band, The Pizza Underground, in Brooklyn, New York on tonight, and his concerned relatives hope he will be able to visit Kit before it is too late.

A source told gossip website TMZ.com that Macaulay has been estranged from his father since his parents' bitter custody battle over his fortune in the '90s.

But Kit, who once managed his son's career, had been desperately trying to get in touch with Macaulay again recently and asked family members to pass his contact details on to the former child star.

An insider previously said that Kit has lost almost all of his motor functions and the prognosis is not good.

Macaulay, who allegedly battled a drug problem last year, has five other siblings, Shane, Kieran, Quinn, Christian and Rory.

His older sister Dakota died when she was stuck by a car when she was out walking in Los Angeles in 2008.
