Lunch a hit with our royals

WARMER weather is luring Gladstone foodies from their offices and homes and out to lunch.

The Coffee Club in Boyne Island was packed last Thursday, and host to some local dignitaries.

Queen Irene, Empress Alicia Pegg and Lady Chardonnay from the Red Hat Tropicanas were spotted lunching, along with Lady Dragonfly Narelle, Lady Pimrose Rosemary, Grand Duchess of Summerset Pam and Grand Duchess Daphne.

The ladies, each of whom wore a stunning head garment, certainly brought a touch of high society to the table.

On Friday, a relaxed crowd enjoyed the fine weather and even better view from the Gladstone Yacht Club.

A few wines were just the ticket to accompany a delicious and hearty Yachties meal.

Surely there is no finer way to spend a Friday lunch!

To see who else was lunching around town, keep an eye out for our lunch box section in every Monday Observer.
