What I'm reading: Horrors and thrillers are the go

THIS week was talk about books and reading with Reject Shop retail assistant Kahlia Higgins.

Name: Kahlia Higgins.

Age: 19.

Occupation: Retail assistant at the Reject Shop.

What is your favourite genre: Horror and thriller as it can be anything - it doesn't have to be realistic or follow a certain structure. It can be anything.

What are you reading at the moment: Room by Emma Donoghue. It's about a mother and child who live in a closet kept captive by a man and the father of the child.

The child has no life outside of the closet and doesn't know the rest of the world exists.

They escape and child finally sees everything for the first time.

The real world is so much to take in and understand for the little boy. So far it's been a really intriguing read.

Who is your favourite author: Stephen King - for sure. My favourite novel of his would be Cell.

It's about a virus transmitted through technology. I also love Telephone.

If you really wanted to read a book but that movie came out first you would ... Honestly - I would watch the movie.

It's very rare for a movie to come out before a book. Besides I have found that if I have watched the movie I have a real image of what the characters look like and their personalities.

Books usually provide more detail anyway so it wouldn't be a let down after watching the movie.

If you could live the life of a character in a book it would be ... Bilbo Baggins.

He's such a good character and he plays an amazing role in both the Hobbit and Lord of The Rings.

He goes on an exciting and amazing journey that anyone would want to go on.
