Top Rugby League team: Miriam Vale Senior Rugby League team took out the 1967 Gladstone Rugby League Premiership on Sunday.

Members of the team and reserves were: Robert Bayliss, Alan Martin, Peter Little, Greg Larson, Cyril Bayliss, Ross Dahl, Lex Cawthray, Ken Cawthray, Cyril Dahl, Ron Ferguson, John Nowell, Brian Martin, Ellis Dahl, Les Martin, Ray Mossman, Ron Smith and Darryl Lester (Captain).

 

College Principal: Brother Austin of the Marist Order has been appointed principal of the new Chanel Marist Brothers College. He will take up duties when the college opens next school year.

 

CQ Top Fisherwoman: Miss Pat Lee of Oaka Lane last weekend took out the Central Queensland Amateur Light Gear Fishing Championship (women's division), which was fished at South Keppel Island off Emu Park.

Chemist facelift - Undergoing major reconstruction in Goondoon Street is one of the oldest pharmacies in the State, the pharmacy now owned and conducted by Mr W. J. Barker, has records dating well back into the last century.

Mr Barker said the building would be completely new when finished as the back section had been renovated some time ago. Mr Barker has owned the pharmacy for 40 years.

Before that Mr F. G. Clarke conducted it over a period of about 30 years.

A Mr Sapsford was the owner before him.
