Lookout road will be closed during fireworks

THE road to Auckland Hill lookout will close briefly during the fireworks displays for this year's Gladstone Harbour Festival.

There will be no public access to the full length of Bishops Drive, the loop road which leads to the scenic lookout, during the closures

Fireworks will be set off from parkland near the lookout.

Bishops Drive will close on Thursday, April 2 from 7.30-9pm, Friday, April 3 from 8.30-9.45pm, Saturday, April 4 from 8.30-9.45pm, and Sunday, April 5 from 9.15-10.30pm.

"Residents and visitors are urged to be mindful of their safety when selecting vantage points to enjoy the fireworks," councillor Rick Hansen said.
