Logan Powell finishes seventh in Paralympic final

SWIMMING: Former Mackay swimmer Logan Powell finished seventh in the 400m S9 freestyle final at the Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro.

It was an impressive swim for Powell, who only just made the final as the eighth qualifier.

"I couldn't be happier," he said,

"To come away to a Paralympic Games and make a final it's just unreal."

Queenslander Brenden Hall was impressive, winning the gold medal.

Powell said it was great to be able to swim alongside somebody like Hall.
