Local boxers serve it up to ladies

THE Gladstone Amateur Boxing Club is taking a break from the ring for a night when they host the Caulfield Ladies Day on Saturday, October 16.

There would be great food and drinks including free beer, wine, soft drinks and basic spirits early in the day while relaxing to some great music by the talented Tom Owen.

Organiser Theresa Walker said there would be the ever-popular fashions-on-the-field with some great frocks making an appearance, while the ladies are being served by some of the young local boxers.

“All our local boxers will be waiters on the day so the ladies can sit back and be waited on hand and foot,” Ms Walker said.

Caulfield Ladies Day is the major fundraiser for the club and all proceeds will go to the purchase of new equipment, club costs and getting Gladstone’s talented athletes off to big events.

Ms Walker said she was looking forward to the big event and tickets were selling fast.

Tickets were $80 each and would include lunch and drinks.

There would be lucky door prizes as well as multi-draw raffles throughout the day.

Tickets were available for purchase from Daly’s Gym at 24 Moura Crescent Gladstone on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 5.30pm-6.30pm.
