WATCH: Lincoln tells what went through his mind with THAT shot

BASKETBALL: Youngster Lincoln Bray's brilliant lay-up was an internet sensation on Youtube.

The degree of difficulty in this left-handed lay-up was high in the game against Hervey Bay at the Central Districts Carnival recently.

Lincoln was playing for Gladstone Sparks' under-14 division two team against and he found himself surrounded by opposition defenders.

He also admitted the move was the trickiest and sneakiest thing he has done on the court.

Funnily enough Lincoln said doing lay-ups is not one of his strong points.

"I would like to work on my long distance shots which is my strength and play for as long as I can," Lincoln said.

His Sparks team finished the carnival with no wins, but the emerging team was more than competitive in all of the four games.

Kempster said he was recording the video of the match as part of a clip for the players to watch at the end of the carnival.

"All of a sudden this kids does that and only once I have seen that at NBA level," Kempster said.

"It was pretty special and he should also have copped a foul and gone to the line."

Sadly, Lincoln will be leaving to Rockhampton with his family, but not before another major assignment for Gladstone.

"Our team is going to Queensland State Championships in Brisbane in April," Lincoln said.

"I am going to sign up for a Rockhampton club and play up there."

Kempster said that Brody had been offered some friendly advice on his defence.

"I think that Brody's parents had told him to keep his skinny legs together and he was also told to put some meat on his quads," Kempster laughed.

The video, which at the time of publication has had 1054 views on Youtube.
