Camping Ladies launch cook book with top tips

GOING camping is one of the best things you can do as a family, according to Boyne Island women Julie Bishop and Regina Jones.

The duo, known simply as The Camping Ladies, launched their book, A Woman's Look at Camping and Cooking Cook Book, at the Gladstone Library on Saturday.

Their main tip was proper planning, which can make all the difference.

Mrs Jones said vacuum sealing to save weight, and sharing the cooking and cleaning duties between friends, were good tips to lighten the load.

"A holiday is extremely expensive if you have to buy three meals a day," Mrs Bishop added.

"If you can do your own thing you can save a whole lot of money."

The book is available from the Gladstone Library, Gladstone Camping Centre and the Tannum Post Office.
