LETTER: Pig hunters don't understand what animal cruelty is
WITH reference to the story on the Gladstone Observer 2/11/15, this pig hunter states "it isn't animal cruelty".
Most of these pig hunters don't know what animal cruelty is.
They lock their dogs up in small cages all day without feeding them and probably half the time no water, so that they are hungry at night and will chase the pigs and also other animals.
Half of these pig hunters cart their dogs on the back of utes in all types of weather without any shelter and for long periods and some don't even have access to water.
I have seen these hunting dogs on the backs of utes in the middle of the day in the very hot sun out west and where they are travelling to is over an hour away.
These pig hunters don't care about the dogs. These poor dogs stand on the hot metal trays which would be burning their feet.
The pigs and any other animals that the dogs are chasing would be in terrible fear for their lives when being chased by dogs, knowing that they were going to die.
Tristan Thompson should be ashamed of himself along with the rest of the pig hunters.
