Letter: Help was at hand when wife had a fall
Letter to the editor from Peter Oberhardt, New Auckland
I WISH to thank all persons involved in the assistance to my wife after her fall at the IGA Sun Valley Shopping Centre trolley ramp on Sunday, November 30 at about 1.30pm.
To the young lady from Craig's Bakery, thanks for the phone call and supplying my wife with a refreshment.
To the lady from the coffee shop for her concern and offer of help.
To the store manager Mark and shop assistants for their concern and taking a statement of the incident.
A big thanks to Kay (who probably had better things to do) for sitting with my wife and comforting her until I arrived.
A special thanks must go to the four young gentlemen who assisted my wife to get back on her feet and made sure she was comfortable.
These gentlemen then proceeded to pack the groceries in the car for her, which was very much appreciated.
This goes to prove that chivalry is not dead in this day and age, and there are still people, young or old, prepared to assist the older generation.
To all involved please have a merry Christmas and a prosperous new year. You deserve it.
Once again thanks to all.
