Lemon cars face the squeeze with website told of 60 cases
AT LEAST 60 people have posted "lemon" car case studies to a Queensland Government website gathering evidence for a consumer law review.
State Attorney-General Yvette D'Ath is gathering evidence to put before a Federal Government law review next year.
Ms D'Ath is advocating for national lemon laws like those operating in the United States, which mandate replacements or refunds on new cars that turn up repeated faults.
"Some of the comments we have already seen [involve] people feeling like they actually can't put their own children into their vehicles because they believe it's so unsafe," she told 612 ABC Brisbane on Thursday.
"Now when families are making those decisions ... I think we've got an issue and I think it's worth investigating.
