Laura to lead the Diamonds into the Netball World Cup

ALLORA netball star Laura Geitz is only five days away from leading the Australian Diamonds into the Netball World Cup in Sydney.

The goalkeeper played in the last World Cup but this will be the first cup she has captained the Diamonds.

The team is currently in camp in Newcastle less than a week until the opening game of Netball World Cup SYDNEY 2015.

The 12-player team will fine tune preparations in Newcastle with a program of technical and tactical sessions before arriving in Sydney on Tuesday ahead of the opening game against Trinidad and Tobago on Friday night.

"The next couple of days will provide us with the opportunity to put the finishing touches on our World Cup preparations away from the excitement of the World Cup in Sydney," Australian Diamonds coach Lisa Alexander said.

"The camp will give us the chance to knuckle down as a group and focus on the task of physically and mentally preparing ourselves for the next two and a half weeks."
