Capras loss only downside to successful Cup day

OWEN Harms could not have been happier with how the Queensland Cup ran at Miriam Vale, with a huge crowd turning up to the event.

Except he wanted the Central Queensland Capras to win.

Already, he is aiming at working to ensure he can give the team another chance after their 48-12 loss at the hands of the Souths Logan Magpies.

"Absolutely, we would love to have it back and will work towards that in 2016," he said.

"It was absolutely sensational.

"I am thrilled for our community to see this event."

The chairman for the Gary Larson Oval Enhancement Group, where the matches were played, Harms could not have asked for a better turnout to the event.

While he didn't know exactly how many people walked through the gates to see the Queensland Cup and three Northern Districts Rugby League matches, he said it was worth every second of planning and preparation just looking over the spectators.

Any money earned for the day will be put back into the ground. "When the national anthem was played and Gary Larson kicked off, it was a very proud moment," he said.

"We look forward to continuing to improve our sports ground."
