Lagoons resort finally set to open in April

LAGOONS 1770 Resort and Spa will welcome guests in April after a turbulent seven years since the global financial crisis.

The 121-unit $50 million luxury resort fell foul of the GFC and has stood half-built as a symbol of a stalled economy for years between the townships of Agnes Water and Seventeen Seventy.

The project was sold to an investment superannuation fund in 2013, and the clean-up of the site began.

It will be the region's first full-service holiday resort, with several pools, a restaurant and a day spa.

General manager Simon Della Santa said it was designed for the "more discerning traveller".

Bookings are being taken on three different accommodation websites, and the resorts official website will be live in the next few weeks.

Rooms are priced between $184-360 for one bedroom studios and apartments and $352-483 for two bedroom apartments.

The new-look Lagoons will include a health and day spa, conference centre and bar and restaurant, along with the units all overlooking the spectacular central lagoon and island.
