Lafai leads way as Bulldogs rip through Dragons

A HAT-TRICK of tries from brilliant Bulldogs centre Tim Lafai helped his team to a 38-6 thrashing of the Dragons at ANZ Stadium yesterday.

Lafai (pictured) grabbed his first in the 24th minute, accepting a short ball from back-rower Josh Jackson to score.

The 22-year-old got his second nine minutes later, after again combining well down the right flank with Jackson. This time Lafai showed dazzling footwork before flicking to ball to Jackson, who put the ball on his boot, with the Samoan representative backing up to score.

Lafai grabbed his third just four minutes into the second half.

Canterbury then continued its run in the second stanza, with tries to Greg Eastwood and Josh Reynolds, after leading 22-0 at the break.

The Dragons avoided a shutout with a late try to Brett Morris.
