FOUR furry felines found new homes yesterday.

Adding to a total of five adoptions for the week, cat co-ordinator Anita Coad said it wasn't bad.

"We consider every adoption a success," she said.

It was a good start for the first official cat adoption day of the year.

"Our numbers are getting down a bit," she said.

"We are one step closer to saving some more cats from the pound."

But there are still plenty more furry friends in need of homes, Mrs Coad said.

She said it was a good time to take advantage of February feline sales.

Kittens which are normally $180 each are going for $150 while adults which are normally $150 are now $100.

"It's a bargain, you get two adult cats for the price of one," she said.

The official adoption site is "adoptapet" where you can view all cats and dogs up for adoption.

Anyone interested in finding a new feline family member can phone Mrs Coad on 4973 7293.
