Big day as SUNfest kids get ready for showcase

FRIDAY is the big day for SUNfest-goers as they ready themselves for the showcase tonight.

Kids around the region will be taking to the stage with all the skills they've been learning over the past week.

Audience members can expect to see stories told using recycled lanterns, Glee-style performances, various styles of dance including hip-hop and ballet and drama performances.

The showcase kicks off at 6.30pm at the Gladstone Entertainment and Convention Centre with everyone around the region welcome to watch their kids and friends perform.

Tickets are free so remember to get there early to secure a seat.

The Hot Shoes/Flash Mob Dancin' in the Street workshop showed off its skills at Stockland on Thursday afternoon for the first performance of SUNfest.

Parents are reminded that there are still school holiday activities running right up until the start of school on Tuesday, January 28.
