New holiday clinic for Gladstone's future rugby stars

GLADSTONE'S future rugby league superstars will no longer miss out on hitting the paddock over school holidays thanks to a new clinic.

While normal play will need to wait until school returns, 150 of Gladstone's budding young talents will hit the field for an NRL run session.

NRL game development officer Rodney Dahl is as keen as many of the kids will be - it is his first clinic in the role.

"It is developing the kids but it is all about fun and we can put some skill into it," Dahl said.

"It will be an enjoyable morning."

Registrations are still available for the clinic, which will include a lot of high level coaching staff, including Dahl.

Urging parents to get their youngsters involved by visiting the NRL website, Dahl said both genders are welcome, a few senior women on board for teaching skills.

"We have got the development officers from Rockhampton, some local rugby league coaches, Ian Webster from the CQ NRL Bid and some raidettes," he said.

"We have three hours of training and a sausage sizzle as well.

"The cost includes a footy, kicking tee, water bottle, boot bag and a ticket to the Capras game."
