Key games loom for Gladdy teams

CRICKET: There's two home games today from 10am at Sun Valley and BITS Ovals in round six of the Frenchville Sports Club Capricorn Challenge.

The Glen take on Rockhampton Brothers at Sun Valley Oval minus two key players and several others who are not available.

The Glen all-rounders Jason Seng and Sam Lowry are currently in Ipswich on representative duties for North Queensland.

Both teams met in round one which was a high-scoring encounter - Brothers scored its only win to date.

That was despite a superb 86 from The Glen captain Dave Heymer as his side fell 12-runs short to Rocky Brothers' 8-264.

Brothers sit in fifth spot on the ladder with their only points from back in round one while The Glen recorded impressive wins against second-placed Gracemere in round three and BITS (last) the following week.

BITS have struggled this season and have not registered any points to date. While its bowlers have toiled hard led by captain Terry Sawyer, the BITS batsmen need to make more of an impact in today's game against Gracemere.

In the 40-over reserve grade competition, Yaralla have already won because BITS have forfeited while Brothers/Colts meet The Glen at Clinton Oval today from 12.30pm.

Tomorrow's B-grade games start from noon with The Glen Black against Calliope at Sun Valley while Yaralla play at home to BITS.
