Katter presser cancelled, 'legal opinion being sought'

IT MAY be the strangest media event that never was.

Bob Katter's office sent out a number of emails to news outlets on Thursday, spruiking a press conference in Brisbane on Friday morning that would include former Australian Party candidate Shane Paulger.

Mr Paulger - a dairy farmer from Kenilworth near the Sunshine Coast - was to make allegations about how the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission "destroyed his livelihood" after he complained to them about an unnamed milk processor.

At 2pm on Friday, Mr Katter's chief of staff told media the event not only failed to go ahead but that legal opinion was now being sought.

No explanation was given for the cancellation and the spokeswoman said there would be no comment made.
