Kate Jones will take last ballot draw in her stride

NOMINATIONS have closed and candidates have drawn their Ballot Paper Order for the Queensland State Election.

Kate Jones may be regretting attending the ballot draw for the seat of Ashgrove this afternoon, after she was drawn last.

Ms Jones had to watch as four fellow candidates were drawn ahead of her - including Premier Campbell Newman at number 2.

There's a theory that being higher up on the ballot increases a candidate's chance of getting votes from constituents who just tick boxes, rather than examine the issues.

But Ms Jones laughed it off when she was asked if she was worried.

"I'll take it in my stride," she said.
